Landweavers

Landweavers are a majestic creature. Until their horns are shoved through your chest, anyway. These highly territorial creatures have become a frequent challenge for smaller settlements across the continent due to their preference for nesting near tributary streams. Utilizing their earth-manipulating abilities, landweavers construct dams to create ideal conditions for their offspring, inadvertently threatening human water supplies as streams run dry.

Cities are forced to dispatch guards to eliminate the threat and restore the water flow. However, landweavers are formidable opponents, with magic that can outmatch novice mages, and these battles often result in heavy casualties. For lesser villages and lone farms, facing such a powerful adversary is not worth the gamble, leaving relocation as the safer, albeit costly, alternative.

Highly territorial, with magic to boot. Landweavers are a force to be reckoned with

Bodaks

Bodaks emerge from an alternate dimension when an area's mana—its magical energy—is completely drained. Typically manifesting in humanoid shapes, Bodaks can also mimic the forms of various beings native to Aberon's Gambit. However, their appearances are twisted, as if their bodies are contorting to adapt to their new environment. The most ancient Bodaks evolve further, developing distinctive limbs, abilities, and characteristics that distinguish them from their original species' standard form.

Bodak rarely appear near human settlements, but death and destruction always follow when they do

The Dusty swine

Legend holds that the town of Moonhorn sprang into existence around a singular establishment: the Dusty Swine. Legend is that the first voyagers from Omersburg, venturing south, were compelled to settle in this spot following a lethal encounter with the landweavers that claimed half their number and destroyed all means of travel.

The Dusty Swine, irrespective of its origins, has earned fame and affection for crafting the most pungently bitter beers in the region. This in turn, has made it a perfect location to hide more clandestine activities in the light of day.

A word of caution, though: Don’t request a room on the top floor unless you’re absolutely certain that’s what you need. And you know how to pay for it. Otherwise, you won’t be the first person who is disappeared during the dead of night.

The premier tavern in Moonhorn is known for more than just it's bitter beer
